Me and Tommy Lasorda Opening Day 2012
Yesterday my wife and I arrived at Isotopes Park for opening day. We went to our seats and I told my wife I needed to go to the restroom. As I walk to the restrooms in right field where I saw I saw Channel 7 sports caster John Salazar interviewing Dodger legend Tommy Lasorda. After the interview he stood their on the concourse one lady walk up to him and asked for a picture. I had to seize the opportunity to take a picture with the Dodger legend. I did get his autograph the last opening day, but I had always felt intimidated to ask him if I could take a picture with him. In 2007 I at the Triple-A All Star Fiesta I had the chance at the luncheon, but I chickened out. Last opening day I had the chance but their were to many people waiting for an autograph so I didn't ask. So I got my picture with Tommy Lasorda. I got so excited after I took the picture with him when I posted it on Twitter I misspelled his name. I guess I can cross that off my bucket list.
Enough about my picture. Back in 1972 Tommy Lasorda was Manager of the Albuquerque Dukes and he led the to a PCL Championship. Back then they didn't give out Championship rings. So the Albuquerque Isotopes presented him with a Championship ring.
I want to thank the Dodger legend. He is responsible for bringing the Dodger organization back to Albuquerque. He will always be apart of Albuquerque.
