Watching a player develope into a Major League player here in Albuquerque, and then getting the chance to see him make his debut with the Dodgers is pretty cool. When I see a player, who I have watched here in Albuquerque, not only grow as a player, but into a man makes me feel kinda proud.

| Me and Jerry Sands 2012 at Isotopes Park |
I am a season ticket holder for the Albuquerque Isotopes. My wife and I have two seats in section 113, which is next to the tunnel where the players walk through, to get from the clubhouse to the dugout, so we see alot.
One of the players I was fortunate to see grow, and make his debut with the Dodgers, was Jerry Sands.
I understand that the why the Dodgers made the move and I think it is the right move to help the Dodgers win. That is what is most important to me, winning not only during the season, but winning a World Series. I hope he has much success with the Red Sox.

Thanks Jerry for always beeing nice to me, and all the fans in Albuquerque. I wish you the best.

I have 13 Jerry Sands cards - in Loons, Isotopes and Dodgers uniforms. Two autographed cards, one purchased and one gotten for me by Ron Cervenka.
I had high hopes for Jerry to a Dodger, but it is difficult to crack the big time.
Hopefully he gets to play in Boston. I watch a lot of Blue Jay games.
I was blessed to get to know Jerry's parents quite well over the past two spring trainings. Little Jerry (as dad was called because he is much shorter than Jerry) and Lori are, in every sense of the word, the salt of the earth. I will truly miss seeing them at CBR.
As I noted in my blog post about SVS being DFA's, baseball is a strange business - if you struggle even slightly when you get that magic phone call, you are pretty much screwed. You have to be “Luis Cruz-like” when you get that call, and Jerry was not.
I came to know Jerry well over the years as well and he is a great kid. I, too, wish him the very best and he will be one of the very few former Dodgers who I will continue to follow.
Godspeed to you, Jerry.
